“My favorite food is chicken, chicken and more chicken!”

For 37 years, Tom Turner has called McFarling Foods his home away from home. Working as the company’s Quality Control Manager, Tom does more than a full day’s work - checking the quality of the products McFarling receives, overseeing the fresh poultry inventory, monitoring room temperatures and helping with receiving.

What is the most exciting part of your job or the highlight of your day at work?

When we’ve received all of our deliveries for the day and our customers get everything they ordered.

Have you held other positions at McFarling Foods? If so, what positions?

Yes, I stocked the meat cooler and freezer, and I was also a meat grinder and cutter, and oversaw the poultry department production.

What do you find challenging and rewarding about your work?

Making sure we ship out quality products - the reward is making our customers happy.

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received??

It was from my son who said I was his hero.

What was your first paying job?

Unites States Marines Corps

What’s something you’re proud of?

Leading my family to Christ.

I am an ordained Minister.

Helping people in need.
