Locally owned food distributor McFarling Foods continues to salute local first responders and community heroes during the outbreak of COVID-19 virus, with their ongoing program: Food Drop Friday.
This week’s Food Drop Friday event will salute the Zionsville Fire Department, as McFarling will donate and deliver boxed lunches to ZFD personnel on Friday, May 29, 2020. The meals will be prepared by Cobblestone Zionsville, a longtime customer of McFarling Foods.
“Food Drop Friday is our way to say ‘thank you’ to the awesome first responders in our community. These unsung heroes deserve to be recognized”, says Jason Acquisto, Marketing Manager at McFarling Foods. “And there’s no better way to do that than with food from one of our great partners.”
Other recent highlights from McFarling Foods ongoing outreach to the local community:
- Launch of the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box program, which includes distribution of hundreds of thousands of family food boxes to local food pantries and programs
- Creation of Spanish language online resources, specifically designed to serve Hispanic restaurant community.
- Development and distribution of free instructional resources about restaurant cleaning and preparation for their gradual re-opening in Indiana.
- Establishment of special introductory FREE programs with DoorDash and Uber Eats, available to their restaurant customers
